More Birthday Pictures

Beautiful new birthday dress - I can't wait to take her out in this!

Opening presents on birthday morning. She didn't know where to start.

New art easel: one side is a chalk board and the other side is a magnetic whiteboard that has clips for paper, so you can paint on it! I'm so excited to scrub paint out of the carpet this summer.

Serena Turned Two!

On March 29th, Serena began her third year of life on earth. Prior to that, she was an angel of the highest order. Observe:

That's an art smock, not a weird pajama top...

Nice axe!

I tried to put a bow in her hair, but she pulled it out immediately.

Happy smiler... hugging Winnie-the-Pooh.

Coloring Eggs

Serena was delighted with the process of dyeing eggs. She was even very tidy and did not spill a drop of dye on the counter! However, she was not so keen on eating the hard-boiled product. Good thing Matt and I love egg salad sandwiches! We dyed a dozen eggs over the past week, so we'll be eating them for a loooong time.

Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

Gee, can you tell that someone in the family went to Michigan? I didn't notice the preponderance of UM bibs until I uploaded these photos...

Serena has been especially enjoying grapes lately, as well as chicken hot dogs, shredded slices of turkey (which we must refer to as chicken also), yogurt, and last night she tasted ratatouille. Unfortunately, it was not a hit. She used to love pasta with red sauce -- into which I would stir pureed green veggies -- but now when I put it before her she protests and whines as if I'd put live worms on her plate. Actually, I bet she'd think live worms were fascinating.

Gratuitous Cuteness

I don't have any particular comments about these pictures except for the obvious: my daughter is the most adorable creature on earth. Also, how come there aren't any pics of her with her mommy???

Sick!!

Poor Serena has been sick with a nasty cold for the past 10 days, and to make things even worse, she got a stomach bug on top of it! She's not eating much, just some apple juice and a little formula, but today she ate more than she has in days, so I think she's getting a bit better. I did keep her home from daycare today, though. She's exhausted and sad, so I think more Mommy-time is what she needs. Poor kid.
